Marko Zvrlevski was born in Debar on 04.12.1960. He completed his primary and secondary education in Skopje. He graduated from the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, and later he passed the bar exam. He attended postgraduate studies in the field of civil law at the Faculty of Law – Iustinianus Primus within “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University.
He started his work experience at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (1988-1989), after which he worked briefly as a journalist at the Macedonian Radio and Television. Starting as a law apprentice at the former Municipal Public Prosecutor’s Office (1983-1991), then continuing his career as a professional associate (1991-1998), criminal law attorney (1998-2000), Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office – Skopje (2000-2005), Zvrlevski consecrated almost his entire career to the prosecutorial work. In December 2005 he was assigned to the Department for prosecution of perpetrators of criminal acts from within organised crime and corruption and after the transformation of the department he was elected as a public prosecutor at the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for prosecution of organised crime and corruption. From November 2009 until January 2013 he managed the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office – Skopje in the capacity of a Basic Public Prosecutor. In January 2013 he was appointed as Public Prosecutor of the Republic of North Macedonia and he exercised this office until August 2017.
Marko Zvrlevski is an educator at the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors; he is a trainer for improving the capacities in the conduct of court proceedings – licensed by the National Institute of USA (NITA), author and co-author of several papers. He was President of the Association of Public Prosecutors of the Republic of North Macedonia from 2009 until September 2015.
